The business of data....!!

Fortunately or Unfortunately
belonging to the millennial population we have entered into an existential
crisis witnessing our relationship with the digital umbrella we are dwelling beneath
or we may say the World Wide Web. In time, when the digital web became our best
friend proving a longest relationship of more than a decade has today acquired
a deep faith in anchoring our thoughts, deeds and perceptions as well.
Today, we feel as if it is only
the web that actually knows us. Truly, Netflix knows on things we watch and
recommendations, All our conversations are either on facebook or whatsApp instead
of our head, Twitter knows what can make us troll, Instagram gives us the joy
of seeing ourselves the way we want to be seen, Snapchat keeps us snapping with
unnecessary filters, Tinder keeps us swiping right, Wikipedia knows all that we
want to know, Google keeps spam away, Amazon delivers the things we need or not,
paytm has made the atm pointless, uber drives us from anywhere to anywhere and
we all enjoy living in this customized world of materialistic relationship.
In the borderless digital world,
all kinds of data such as biometric data, demographic or the psychic data collectively
have made their way through. When we talk of the European union ushering the general
data protection rights or the verdict of the Honorable supreme court of India in regard to the Right to
privacy as integral to the fundamental right of the constitution.
Howbeit, for many businesses across
the world, it has always been about the data, helping to deliver and target the
particular audience. Subsequently, deciphering with certain absolute analytics
to realize it intuitively further creating leads exploring business
opportunities. Specifically for advertising, marketing, and the media industries
data plays a pivotal role in impacting their businesses in large.
Indeed data has, had played
politically and psychologically with our emotions and situations. But circuitously,
in the fowl play it is the common man who has been endangered while our government seems un-protecting the pseudo protected.
We need to ponder upon….
