“Web Applications are not the answer, to all your common worries”…….
Soon after the emergence of Mr. Narendra Modi in 2014, among all the implications from black money to corruption free governance, Digital technology and E-governance boomed at a large scale as a panacea for addressing all the issues of the common people. While digital governance seems to be the most transparent form of governance with lesser opportunities for circumvention but not completely fraudulent free.
On July 1, 2015 two years ago when Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched the “Digital India” Program with a purview to enlarge digital literacy among the country people providing high speed Internet facilities and wifi in six crore rural as well as urban areas, was sought to be a well admiring step by the government. Giant companies like Facebook, Google, oracle and top CEOs from India and abroad committed to invest approximate ₹224.5 lakh crore (US$3.3 trillion) extravagantly towards this initiative awaiting to extract larger profits while luring the Indian market. There is no harm in believing that digitisation lessens the dodging parameters in the community ultimately leading to a less corrupt society.
Apart from all the pros associated with the digital technological advancements, one should not neglect that it is not a service directly governed by the God but rather it is the same human being controlling its occurrences particularly restricted to common man’s reach but well approachable to the concerned authorities. one of the biggest example is the EVM-Tampering rows created in controversies these days, Earlier in 1999 when Electronic Voting Machine was introduced in India nobody thought of it coming under clouds of suspicion but what is happening is all in front of us.
No technology is a full proof technology, especially when you talk of web technologies, when during its developmental stages the perspective of security was not at all kept in view. Currently, we are all trying our level best to whitewash it with multi layered security laps whereas the challenges of cyber security is still left unmet.
