Facebook, Replacing your natural social-identity building capability…

By: Altamash Khan.
HUMANS considered to be the social animal on the planet earth seems to be losing empathy towards each other. Emotions have been confined to Like, Comment and Share consequently, making the outreach null thereupon. From a Harvard social-networking website to a global internet phenomenon, Facebook has made it all possible under its own cloud. While studying psychology at the Havard University, Mr Zuckerberg embarked the journey of Facebook originating from Havard reached Boston and later on eventually to all the Universities of the United States. It became the prestigious Facebook.com in the year 2005 and later on flourishing beyond educational institution to any one with a registered email address. Initially Facebook started its earning through advertising revenue but when we made it a US$10.217 billion company, even we are still not aware of it completely. Facebook, which has more than 1.9 billion monthly active user till last year end is the worlds most accepted social networking website alluring young champs across the Globe with its flamboyant features, Orchestrating the future of the present.
Perhaps not diving into the Facebook history, looking at it from the social point of view as it is considered to be the Social Networking or Social Media looks socially lame to me, pondering at it’s traits in general. Why not say it as a Flaunt-Book or may be as an exhibition brandishing your brighter sides to the world. Youths from all across the world, tangentially adjacent to their view point are all equally imprisoned to this virtual world. This new status quo which evenly arose in India was statistically calculated as a profiteering business for India market by the company and thanks to us we helped at our best.
Recently, I went to a party with my friends where i was astounded to see the people striving for photo ops in all possible poses they could possibly make of it. Being a part of the social event i tried my best to be a part of the inevitable moments i was supposed to be but not being a voracious photo savvy escaped the unnecessary part of the event. what was unfortunate for me that, I found nothing Social about the Social Event and it’s not only the case. There has been several instances when i have came across the similar instances being gender unbiased both my male and female friends were equally dying part of the same.
Eventually after two days, I saw the reflection of the same at my Facebook wall paraded with party photos, flooded with tags and trailing comments bragging each other. Have Facebook substituted your natural social-identity building capability….. Don’t you think we are all becoming socially bankrupt, paralysed by the virtual space confining our natural ability to prove ourselves  in the real world.
We need to think………
